On April 6th, the entrance ceremony for 2026 academic year was held at the Asty Tokushima, and a total of 1,912 students (1,348 undergraduates, 481 master’s (doctoral preliminary) and 83 doctoral (doctoral advanced) students).
At the entrance ceremony, Ms. Yokotani Kana of the Faculty of Medicine, representing the new students, took an oath, saying, "We pledge to abide by the university's educational policy and regulations, and to strive for academic research and the cultivation of character." Following this, President Kawamura offered congratulatory address, saying, "At Tokushima University, you students are the main characters. I sincerely hope that you will go forth and make great strides in our country and the world, leading the world as leaders. Congratulations to all the new students on your admission."
Following that, Mr. Hara Yuto from the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences, representing the current students, gave a welcoming speech, saying, "I hope you will pursue what you want to do. I hope you will do everything you can only do now, while you are still young."
