On October 5th, 2025, the "Our Sport Cafe" was held at the Tokushima University Future Center A.BA, and was attended by students of all ages who play sports, from junior high and high school students to university students.
The first session of the year was themed "Sports Psychology: Understanding the psychological state for best performance," and Associate Professor Nakatsuka from the Faculty of Integrated Arts and Sciences, who specializes in sports psychology, provided practical information, and participants deepened their understanding of "being true to yourself" and "keeping a calm mind" through learning together in groups. Through groups learning, participants deepened their understanding of "being true to yourself" and "being calm." They experienced firsthand that what constitutes best performance for each individual is different, and experienced the difficulty of checking and controlling their own psychological state while tackling various challenges. Participants actively exchanged opinions across school and sport boundaries, and the course was a great success.
The second session will be held on December 27th and will be themed on nutritional supplementation methods used by athletes. The guest speaker will be Ms. Yoshitani Kayo, a certified sports nutritionist and nutrition advisor for the Hanshin Tigers. Please come along. Further details will be announced at a later date, so please check back.
