Many people think that the purpose of enrolling in the Faculty is to qualify as a pharmacist, but this is not the case at Tokushima University’s Faculty of Pharmacy. The educational philosophy of the Faculty is to foster interactive pharmacist-scientist.‘Interactive Pharmacist-scientist’ is an unfamiliar term, but it was coined by the Faculty to refer to individuals who have acquired a wide range of knowledge and skills and can collaborate and respond across diverse fields of pharmaceutical science. Examples include pharmacists who are skilled in organic and physical chemistry, and drug discovery researchers who are familiar with medical practice. In other words, the Faculty aims to foster in dividuals who have the potential to actively cultivate their own fields of activity in any field or domain related to pharmacy, contributing to society by making the most of their qualifications as a pharmacist.
