Creating the future through the fusion of health, food, agriculture and bioscience
We aim to foster people with broad knowledge of primary industry, food, and bioscience, with knowledge and skills applicable to commercialization and industrialization of biological resources, who can contribute to the creation of new industries utilizing biological resources from an international perspective.
The Faculty of Bioscience and Bioindustry, established in 2016, is Japan's first faculty intended to develop personnel who can contribute to economic development and the creation of new industries founded on biotechnology-based health science, food science, and agriscience. From the second year, students are assigned to the Applied Life Science Course, Food Science Course, and Biological Production Systems Course, obtaining specialist knowledge in the development of biopharmaceuticals and functional foods, selective breeding of crops and livestock, plant factories and so on, as well as the business knowledge required to establish new industries.
