Introduction
Civil and Environmental Engineering
Civil Engineering is a professional engineering discipline that deals with the theories and technologies which are used for planning, design, construction and management of infrastructures implemented by public works. The curriculum of our department covers all aspects of civil engineering (structures, concrete, hydraulic, hydrology and coastal, geotechnical, environmental, planning and design systems, political simulation, social risk engineering).
Mechanical Engineering
The aim of the Department of Mechanical Engineering is to educate the students with the knowledge to work in various industrial factories through the advanced applications of mechanical engineering.
Chemical Science and Technology
Every field of engineering cannot grow without innovations in the science and processing of materials by chemistry. With a vision to realise a better world for mankind and earth, our faculty members are devoted to study various aspects of chemistry and chemical engineering.
Biological Science and Technology
In our department, various and outstanding functions which organisms exhibit are learned by highly motivated students and a lot of advanced bio-engineering and bio-technology methods such as genetic recombination, cell fusion, and tissue culture, etc. are introduced for pioneer researches in life science. We aim for the engineering application of productions of useful substances, a yield of energies, environmental preservation, and information processing, etc.
Electrical and Electronic Engineering
Electrical and electronic engineering plays an important role in the recent revolution of science and technology, and is still rapidly developing. To meet those revolution and development, educational systems and research fields in the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering cover a wide variety of sciences and technologies to electrical and electronic engineering from fundamentals to advanced applications.
Our department consists of four major research groups: Material Sciences and Device, Electric Energy Engineering, Communications and Controls, and Intelligent Networks and Computer Sciences.
Information Science and Intelligent Systems
As computers and programs evolve quickly and become more and more complex, highly trained computer professionals are necessary. This department aims at providing an up-to-date, comprehensive knowledge on computer science, producing high-level professionals for the industry, as well as researchers fitted for the industry and academia.
Optical Science and Technology
The areas of education and research covered include photonics of optical materials and devices including inorganic crystals, organic polymers and semiconductors, lasers and nonlinear optics, nanophotonics, information photonics, biomedical optics, three dimensional displays, medical imaging systems, computer aided diagnosis systems, photonic network. Because cross-disciplinarity is common in this field, the curriculum is designed to give students exposure to such specialties as materials science, device physics, and information system engineering.
Center for Mathematics and Physics in Engineering Education
This department offers the educational programs in physics and mathematics for the students of seven departments. The emphasis is on fundamental principles, as well as the recognition of the importance of applied phisics and mathematics to engineering fields.
We support all the students to develop his/her faculties in physics and mathematics.
