At the Department of Conservative Dentistry, our mission is to preserve natural teeth and periodontal tissues as much as possible, while maintaining and restoring oral function and esthetics through minimally invasive approaches. Based on the concept of Minimal Intervention dentistry, we aim to clarify the etiology and pathogenesis of dental caries, pulpitis, apical periodontitis, and periodontal disease, and to develop new diagnostic and therapeutic strategies.

Our department explores next-generation conservative dental care by integrating adhesive dentistry, restorative dentistry, endodontics, periodontology, esthetic dentistry, digital technologies, and optical imaging techniques. Through a comprehensive approach that bridges basic research and clinical application, we strive to contribute to patient-centered dental care that harmonizes oral function and esthetics.

Major Research Topics
1. Basic research on adhesion to dental hard tissues and its clinical application to minimally invasive treatment
2. Development of next-generation functional and esthetic restorative treatments using digital technologies
3. Development of novel diagnostic methods in dentistry using optical imaging techniques
4. Analysis of pathological changes and diagnostic approaches for irreversible pulpitis
5. Immunological analysis of tissue destruction mechanisms in periodontal disease
