| The University of Tokushima Faculty of Dentistry was established. Two departments (Departments of Biochemistry and Orthodontics) were founded. Professor TAKEDA Yoshiro(Department of Biochemistry) was installed as the new Dean. |

| 60 students were admitted to the Faculty as the first term students. Three departments(Departments of Conservative Dentistry, Removable Prosthodontics, Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery) were founded. |

Institute of Health Biosciences was renamed to the Institute of Biomedical Sciences. |
